Chelsea beat Birmingham city in FA cup

Following the sacking of Andre Villas Boas on Sunday, assistant coach Roberto took charge of the struggling Chelsea team, soon after the sacking many big names were in the news to take charge of the position left vacant after the departure of Chelsea manager but this time Chelsea owner chooses to hold the decision until summer and appointed Roberto De Matteo as a care taker manager till the end of the season.

Chelsea resume the second leg against Birmingham city with many big names like Drogba, Lampard and Essein left on the bench. New Chelsea manager decided to start with Solomon Kalou, John Obi Mikel and Fernando Torres in front. The Championship side we able to keep the Chelsea quiet during the first half but fans noticed slightly different spirit from the blues in the second half and with in no time Raul Meireles and Mata put their name on the score card and made life miserable for the former Newcastle manager.

Chelsea completely dominated the second half and the spirit which was missing during the reign of AVB was bought back in to the Chelsea camp by the new manager. Now the next big task for the new manager is to conquer the fourth place in the Premier league in order to retain Champions league spot.

Chelsea will also face Nepoli in their second meeting against the Italian side, just to remind you that Chelsea looses the first leg 3-1 two weeks ago an now it would be interesting to see how the Chelsea back room staff and manager will turn the things araound.
