Chelsea sack Andre Villa Boas

The man who costs Chelsea £13.8m just eight months before has been sacked by the Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. Blues lure him from Porto and it was quoted that Roman will give young manager some time to settle down in the Premier league.

AVB was under immense pressure due to the bad performance of the team which saw him losing 3-0 to Nepoli in the Champions league and also he managed to get just five wins in from last 16 games. Also Chelsea’s position in the Champions league and Premier League was not promising, and after the current defeat their Champions league place is in doubt.

Chelsea has announced "With immediate effect, Roberto De Matteo has been appointed first-team coach on intern basis until the end of season "

Chelsea manager already mentioned that he could be sacked just two days before a defeat from Roy Hodgson’s West Brom. Chelsea manager was also unable to establish good relationship with the senior players due to which two senior players were axed by him Nicklous Anelka and Alex. Frank Lampard also mentioned that his relationships with the AVB are not ideal.

As predicted the task given to new Chelsea manager is to keep them in the Champions League and they still have plenty of games in their hand inorder to reclaim the fourth spot in the Premier League and retain Champions League football.

Roberto De Matteo’s first game in charge will be FA cup second leg against Birmingham city.

While Jose Mourinho is the leading contender for the position of Chelsea manager in the Summer.
